How the CUET General Test paper is structured
The General Aptitude Test (paper 501, often called the General Test) is the one CUET paper that does not follow a school subject. The official syllabus has five areas: general knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability and numerical ability, quantitative reasoning (simple arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration and statistics) and logical and analytical reasoning. The syllabus PDF also lists general science and environment literacy.
Since 2025 the paper has 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes, the same as every other paper. In 2024 it had 60 questions with 50 to attempt. Some programmes ask for GAT and many do not, so confirm you need it before using one of your five slots on it.
