How the CUET Computer Science paper is structured
Paper 308 covers both Computer Science and Informatics Practices. Section A is common to everyone: database concepts, SQL and computer networks. You then attempt either Section B1 (Computer Science: exception and file handling in Python, stack, queue, searching, sorting, data and networks) or Section B2 (Informatics Practices: SQL functions, Pandas, Matplotlib, networks, societal impacts and project based learning).
B1 follows NCERT Computer Science class 12 and B2 follows NCERT Informatics Practices class 12. The syllabus does not state how many of the 50 questions come from Section A.

Frequently asked questions
What is the exam pattern of the CUET Computer Science paper?
CUET UG Computer Science (paper code 308) has 50 compulsory multiple-choice questions to be answered in 60 minutes. A correct answer earns 5 marks and a wrong answer costs 1 mark, so the paper is out of 250. This is the CUET UG 2026 pattern; NTA has not announced any change for 2027.
Has NTA released the CUET Computer Science syllabus for 2027?
Not yet. The syllabus on this page is the official CUET UG 2026 Computer Science syllabus, which is the latest one NTA has published. This page will be updated when the 2027 syllabus is released.
Which books should I study for CUET Computer Science?
Study from: NCERT Computer Science class 12 (Section B1); NCERT Informatics Practices class 12 (Section B2); NCERT Informatics Practices class 11, chapters on databases and SQL (useful for Section A).
What changed in the CUET Computer Science syllabus?
Minor: 2026 added file offsets (seek and tell), MySQL constraints and DNS to Computer Science, and project based learning to IP. This compares the 2025 and 2026 syllabi; the 2027 syllabus is not out yet.
Is CUET Computer Science different from Informatics Practices?
They share one paper code, 308. Section A (databases, SQL, networks) is common. After that you attempt Section B1 if you studied Computer Science or Section B2 if you studied Informatics Practices.
Which programming language is used in CUET Computer Science?
Python. Section B1 follows NCERT Computer Science class 12, which uses Python for file handling, stacks, queues, searching and sorting. Section B2 uses Python with Pandas and Matplotlib.
