How the CUET Home Science paper is structured

CUET Home Science (paper 315) has six units: work, livelihood and career; nutrition, food science and technology; human development and family studies; fabric and apparel; resource management; and communication and extension.

NTA re-issued this syllabus in January 2026 as a revised version. It maps one to one onto the 14 chapters of the NCERT class 12 book Human Ecology and Family Sciences, Parts I and II.

What changed from 2025 to 2026

Restructured from 2 units (I: Work, livelihood and career; II: Career Opportunities with areas A-E) into 6 units that mirror the rationalised NCERT book.
Dropped 2025 topics: catering and food services management; guidance and counseling; special education and support services; support services for children in difficult circumstances; retailing and merchandising (now 'Fashion Designing and merchandising'); production and quality control in garment industry; museumology and textile conservation; human resource management; designing of interior and exterior space; event management; consumer services (now 'Consumer Education and Protection'); management of development programs; media management and advocacy; media design and production.
'Management of institutions and programs for children, youth and elderly' became 'Management of Support Services, Institutions and programs for children, youth and elderly'.
2025 framed every topic as 'Specific Careers and Areas'; 2026 lists them as plain chapter topics.
